On Sunday Pastor Duane preached from I Corinthians 3 reminding us that while it is appropriate for babies to drink milk, we expect five-year-olds to be ready to eat meat. Paul encouraged the Corinthian church to stop squabbling over who to follow and grow up.
We were also blessed on Sunday evening that the Youth Band led us in worship during Second Sunday Sing.
Wednesday: Tomorrow we gather in the Sojourners Room for the mid-year Congregational Meeting at 6:30pm. You don’t need to be a member to vote at these meetings. This is a great time to learn more about Jubilee. Reports will include the trustees’ care for the facility and Jubilee’s budget.
Friday: Men’s Prayer Breakfast meets on Friday morning at 6:15am at Queen City Truck Stop.
We are grateful for the assistance of Meridian Freedom Project Students who will bag groceries on Friday afternoon at 3:50. The February Distribution date is February 28.
Friday and Saturday Jubilee women are welcome to Pine Lake Camp for a Women’s Retreat. For more info, talk to Cheryl Landis or Fern Diener.
Saturday afternoon the Youth Group will bake goodies for a bake sale scheduled during Sunday’s Pot Luck.
Sunday: Join us for Sunday School and a worship celebration at Jubilee!
Bro. Bob Metzler will be our speaker. He is the pastor of Straight Mountain Mennonite Church and a sales/service representative for Choice Books. He will share a message and the ministry of Choice Books.
Pot Luck will follow the service. Bring a dish and join the fellowship. Thanks to the youth group for cleaning after the meal and sharing baked goods – both for donations – raising funds for their trip to the Mennonite Youth Convention. Many thanks, Jubilee, for your generous donations for our youth group!
The Jr. Youth Group is creating care packages for Jubilee college students. Items you bring for these boxes will be collected Sunday.
Many Thanks to the grocery bag and egg carton fairies! Your donations of these items are discovered inside and outside the building and are needed and used.
See you Sunday,
