On Sunday Pastor Duane preached from I Corinthians 3 reminding us that while it is appropriate for babies to drink milk, we expect five-year-olds to be ready to eat meat. Paul encouraged the Corinthian church to stop squabbling over who to follow and grow up.

Many Thanks to the grocery bag and egg carton fairies! Your donations of these items are discovered inside and outside the building and are needed and used.
See you Sunday,
We are grateful to the Youth Band for leading us in worship yesterday for World Fellowship Sunday. Have you ever considered that the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 is the answer to the confusion of languages that happened at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9)? Pastor Duane shared that connection in yesterday’s sermon and encouraged us to make sure our projects are God centered instead of focused on ourselves.
Tomorrow we will Share God’s Groceries. Over a ton of groceries and lots of love will go through Jubilee’s doors tomorrow. If you can volunteer, please let me know today. Volunteers will arrive around 9:30 to be ready for the doors to open at 10:00.
Recently I asked Ms. Margaret, an amputee in a wheelchair, “Ms. Margaret, can you really use all those dry beans and cans of soup we give you.” She beamed. “Honey,” she said, “I’d come here every fourth Tuesday if ya’ll didn’t give me a thing!” Ms. Margaret is our neighbor and lives a few blocks from Jubilee.

There are many opportunities for service and worship this weekend at Jubilee. Here is a sample.

* want to know more about the sale, contact Dara Dominici
* have items to donate, call Duane Maust
* need a ride or directions to Des Allemands, call Duane Maust
* want to help with the wildly fun (really) baking day today, let Elaine Maust know
Sunday is World Communion Sunday. In celebration, Pastor Matilde Acosta of the local Hispanic Church of God will be our preacher. We are also indebted to Claudio Aguilar who is returning to us from the New Orleans area to translate for Pastor Acosta. You may remember Claudio as a recent revival preacher at Jubilee. We all will share in the communion service as a response to the service.
Please note that in our continuing efforts to provide a safe place for worship, at 10:45 the doors to the kitchen and hall by the Sojourner’s Room (back parking lot and 9th street entrances) will be locked. If you are coming late, please use the parking lot on 28th Avenue. The doors by the office, into the sanctuary and the 9th street entrance by the food pantry will remain unlocked all morning. If you have questions about this, please talk to one of the Elder Team: James Dominici, Joel Beachy, Fern Diener, Anita Wansley, or Duane or Elaine.
Hoping that you feel God’s peace and care today. See you on Sunday!
We are looking forward to a great service on Sunday. The theme will be “The Bible, Sweeter than Honey.” You’ll find this phrase in our text, Psalm 19:7-14. Check out what this Psalm says about God’s Word.
The Jr. Youth Group and I will have some fun with this theme. During the Sunday School time, they will write their questions about the Bible, then I will attempt to answer these questions in the course of the sermon. Let’s see what questions they have! Jr. Youth, get your questions ready! This is going to be fun.
On Sunday, the Jr. Youth Group will introduce their Christmas Giving Project. Come to hear about their hopes for helping others. Talk to Beth or Matt Graybill if you have questions.

This Sunday, Duane and several others from Jubilee will attend the ordination of Ruskin Clay, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Macon, MS. If you would like to join them for this important event in Gulf States Conference, please contact Duane.
See you on Sunday!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday Jubilee’s Youth and sponsors will be at Gulf States Conference Youth Rally at Pine Lake. For more info, contact Joel Beachy.
On Saturday, the MS/LA Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) will meet at Jubilee at 10:00 in the Sojourners’ Room. Everyone is invited to attend for information about the projects of this important ministry. If you have questions, contact Chris Wansley.
Sunday’s Sermon will be the first in a two part series on Hospitality. Did you ever think of God as a host? Though it’s a little hard to picture God grilling burgers, making sweet tea or wearing an apron, the Bible is brimming with illustrations of God hosting.Check out Psalm 23:5 for one example. Or what about God being a guest? Take a look at Genesis 18:1-8.
Sharon Dufour is preparing a story for the children about a time Jesus hosted. Read John 21:1-14 for a story of Jesus grilling fish for his friends.
Following the sermon, anyone is invited to come forward for Healing Prayer and anointing. Bring any concern or need you have – for yourself or someone for whom you care. God invites you. The Holy Spirit will be present to heal.
Following the service, Jubilee will enjoy our third Sunday Pot Luck. Don’t miss the good food or the fellowship. Bring food to share. For more information contact Rachel Seibel.
