This Week at Jubilee – 3/27/17

Dear Friends,

Special thanks to Jubilee’s Youth Group for the well done and captivating presentation of John 9 during Sunday’s worship service.  Thanks Lisa Shelly for helping them prepare!

Jubilee, you went above and beyond again during the March distribution of God’s Groceries on Tuesday.  218 persons from 102 households received about 25 pounds of groceries.   Eighteen volunteers served love, prayers and respect.  Today we had our 2017 Mississippi Food Pantry audit and your food pantry ministry fared very well.  Go team Jubilee!

The Youth Cajun Meal Fund Raiser scheduled for this Saturday is cancelled due to the death of Lindsay Diener’s maternal grandmother.  Thank you for praying for Lindsay’s family.

Please let Cheryl Landis know by Sunday about your lodging needs for Jubilee Camp Out, scheduled for April 7-9.  In order to provide adequately for meals, please also let her know what meals you plan to eat at the camp out and how many guests you are bringing.  Lodging and meal forms will be available again on Sunday or you can contact her directly this weekend.

Join us for worship on Sunday, the last Sunday of Lent.  Jeff Landis will preach and the Youth Band will lead our worship

God bless you all,

Elaine Maust

This Week at Jubilee- 2/27/17

Dear Jubilee,

We are grateful that Emily Key shared her moving testimony with us on SundayEmily’s message of pain and hope reminded us to wait in the difficult times.  I was especially encouraged that Emily discovered profound peace when she had a relationship with God.

Today Jubilee shared over a ton of God’s Groceries with 99 households.  What a joyful, capable and loving group of volunteers gathered to pray and serve today.

Mom’s Group is thriving.  This morning the happy sounds of children playing in the gym reached all the way to the foyer.  Mom’s Group meets every Tuesday morning.  If you know someone who would benefit, talk to Beth Graybill.

Tomorrow evening at 6:30pm join us in the Sojourners Room for the Ash Wednesday Service.  This simple service will remind us of our humility and need for God’s forgiveness.  The service will include prayers, songs, scriptures and the imposition of ashes, which means placing ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead.

On Friday morning Jubilee men are invited to Prayer Breakfast at 6:15am at Queen City Truck Stop.

Pine Lake will be bustling all day Saturday.  Join the fun at Work Day!  The day begins at 8:30.  There will be projects for every skill level.  Lunch will be provided at 1:00.  Talk to Lindsay Diener or Matt Graybill for more details.

All Youth are invited to the Youth Game Night on Saturday evening at 7:00.  Joel Diener has those details.

I hope you can join us for Worship on Sunday.  This Sunday you can expect to experience God and:

    – Anita Wansley preaching from Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-7 & Matthew 4:1-11
– Celebrating the Lord’s Supper
Welcome! Class beginning during Sunday School
– Worship Planning Team meeting at 1:30

Tonight I pray for the many of us who are sick or in pain.  And I give thanks to be part of a church that tries to do as Jesus taught, to love our neighbors.

In hope,

Elaine
